Jury  2019

Every year the Festival wishes to attract talents capable of settling on the best of the best of short films. This year we introduce a jury composed of members from different walks of life.

danny lennonDanny Lennon (Québec)

In 1999, Danny Lennon launched ‘Prends ça court!’, which celebrates and supports short films from around the world, as well as Québécois cinema. He remains the programmer to this day. He is also the programmer and driving force of the Talent tout court initiative, established in 2012 in collaboration with Téléfilm Canada. Lennon contributes in every way possible to the promotion, distribution, airing and production of independent and professional short films on an international level. Lennon also organises the Gala Prix Prends ça court! , the biggest night of the year for Québec short films, whose 15th edition was a tremendous success! As Basta would say: « My rogue feet were made to trample kings ».

Babak Karimi Babak Karimi (Italian-Iranian)

Its relevance is in Italy, Iran. Winner ex equo of the Silver Bear at the Berlin festival as best actor for the film « Una Separazione » by Asghar Farhadi (Oscar for best foreign film 2012) with whom he also collaborated for « The Past » and « The Salesman » (Best Oscar foreign film 2017). He collaborated with Shahram Mokri for Fish & Cat and Incasion, Mattia Torre “La Linea Verticale », Roberto Andò « Una Storia Senza Nome ».

Chantal FischerChantal Fischer (French)

After having been responsible for public policies (PACA, Franche-Comté), Chantal Fischer is currently producer in 13 productions, where she develops projects of cinema and television fiction.
She is also in charge of artistic matters at Cinefeel Prod. A private investment fund.


Joan VivesJoan Vives Lozano (Spanish)

Joan Vives Lozano graduated in 2017 at ESCAC film school (Escola de Cinema i audiovisuals de Catalunya). He made his first short movie « El Escarabajo al Final de la Calle », with which he won 43 awards and travelled around more than 150 festivals. He now teaches cinema at the same film school (ESCAC) . He also works at some spanish TV shows as a director, specially comedies. He is now preparing his first feature film.

Babak Karimi is an Iranian actor. He was introduced to cinema at an early age as his father was also a filmmaker. Years later he moved to Italy where he took to the job of camera operator. He has since then collaborated with great directors such as Asghar Fahradi with whom he has already directed three movies.

Festival Manager

With a passion for the image, Gaëlle Rodeville studied cinema at La Sorbonne, earning a Masters degree. After working on several film festivals in diverse occupations, she entered the team of the Aubagne International Film Festival in 1999 and became its general manager in 2003.

President of the Association of Directors of Tunisian Films

Mokhtar Ladjimi is a Tunisian director and screenwriter graduated from IDHEC.
Among his many accomplishments are documentaries Colonial Cinema (Doc-1997), Thousand and One Oriental Dances (Doc-1999), and The Orient of Coffees (Doc-2000) …

Cultural Manager

Expert in communication, marketing, cultural events and organisms management, she teaches at multiple schools between Montreal and Brussels. She is a consultant in funding strategies and developed the Quebec of the crowdfunding platform kisskissbankbank.com.

Producer (Paradis Films) – Belgium

Marilyn Watelet started on Belgian television; in 1975, with Chantal Akerman, she created Paradise Films, where she stayed until 2011. Later, she worked as a director of scouting, assistant director, production coordinator and producer on more than thirty fiction and documentary films, all teaching at the INSAS (Ecole Supérieure des Arts du Spectacle) from 1992 …
