What are the Mini Shorts?

The Mini Shorts session is a selection of films dedicated to a young audience (from 5/6 years old).

As for the official competition, the programme presents films awarded during the past year in the main events dedicated to short films, or having a selection young audience.
That’s why the Festival decided to dedicate a day to primary and secondary schools which desire to organize an original school outing to the cinema.

A selection in competition before a school jury:

The section Cinema of the secondary school Virebelle of La Ciotat (Key stage 3 and 4) will form a jury to award the prize of the best Mini Shorts during the festival: the Golden Jack. This school jury is chaired and sponsored by an international director, recognized for its realizations dedicated to a young audience.

Discover the documentary directed by the association "Tout Visuel", during the Mini Shorts workshop of the edition 2009, in the presence of Pascal Le Nôtre, whose film L'Hiver de Léon was selected in the programme dedicated to the young audience.

Educational tutoring for the teachers:

To accompany the teachers, the cinema sections or transverse workshops within the framework of the centre of excellence, the Best of Festival will make available handouts for each film. Created from tools used and which enable the realization of a film: storyboards, animatics, images, technical form etc., they are the result of a collaboration between the association “Tout Visuel” and in consultation with the teachers from the school partners of the edition 2010 of the Festival.
The handouts are an important resource for the teacher training in the analysis of a film work and are designed for children and pupils from 6 to 15 years old.
